Controlling Access to Inappropriate Content
If you have a copy of Internet Explorer, then you already have some form of parental control on your machine for the web. All you have to do is enable it.
In Internet Explorer, click on view, options. Then select the Security folder. You can enable the ratings. The program will prompt you for a password which you will need to change the settings, and enable or disable the rating system.
Windows 95 comes with RASCi http://www.rsac.org/, but other rating services such as SafeSurf http://www.safesurf.com/, and ASASP http://www.asasp.com/ can be also enabled. The website providers voluntarily rate their own sites and register them with the rating services. All websites that contain materials with ratings more unacceptable than the settings and unrated sites are not loaded. A window with a password prompt comes up instead. However, this protection only works on the web.
