Shakespeare in the Park acting group will kick off this Labor Day week by coming to the Big Timber Park on Friday, Sept. 1st , and perform a Shakespeare Play- either "Much Ado About Nothing or Measure for Measure". The acting troop, Shakespeare in the Park, performs all over Montana and is based out of Bozeman. Their performance starts at 6:00pm, but if you like you can come early and eat a shrimp fundraising dinner before the performance at the park.

The In-Vo-Care Program (InterFaith Volunteer Caregivers) uses the Shakespeare and Shrimp dinner -starting at 4:30 (just before the play)- as their major fundraiser. The shrimp dinner includes corn on the cob, salad, bread and pie. Local musicians will perform during the meal and the price is $10 and children under 9 pay one dollar a year. Proceeds to benefit In-Vo-Care in Big Timber.

Many people have chipped in to bring the Shakespeare in the Park group to Big Timber, and Larry Pray, initial President of In-Vo-Care, says the event is becoming a Labor Day weekend tradition.

"You do not have to watch TV or from 100 yards away…. it is good food, fellowship, and drama" said Larry Pray about the event.

Diana Taylor is the event organizer. The event is free to the public, yet you are encouraged to contribute a free will donation if you like.

Shakespeare in the Park group uses a small outdoor stage, minimal but effective props, and relies mainly on acting and imagination to bring out the characterizations. If it rains the play and shrimp dinner will be held indoors at the Civic Center- this year we will not mind the rain a bit!

Volunteers are needed for In-Vo-Care and for the event, and if you would like to volunteer, contact Jessica Atherton who is listed below.
