Next
followed a slide show where photos of the graduates were split screened with a
graduation photo on one side and a baby photo on the other. These photos
showed the unique personalities that each student possess and each persons
special nature.
Next,
Mr. Vince Kunda got up to speak. Mr Kunda, long time art teacher at SGHS,
talked about the closeness that he feels to this graduating class. Mr
Kunda is one of the class sponsors of this years graduating class, along with
Mr. and Mrs. Ryan. Mr. Kunda told personal stories that made everyone
laugh, stories of how he challenged this class to win the Rodeo Parade float
contest four years in a row, and unprescented accomplishment. He told of
how the class worked together to embrace this goal, and the pitfalls that they
overcame. Mr. Kunda recently had to retire due to his battle with cancer,
but standing before his students you saw a man who loved to teach and who would
leave a legacy behind. The deep love and respect was shown on the faces of
the seniors as Mr. Kunda spoke.
The
graduation ceremony ended with the presentation of diplomas handed out by board
member Mr. Dan Plaggemeyer. After this, the seniors lined up in the
cafeteria to meet with everyone. Then everyone left to go to their
individual receptions.

Seniors Throw their hats celebrating the tradition of Graduation.
