Sweet Grass County residents came in to the Big Timber Civic center to cast their votes this Tuesday.  A table of the vote official vote count is shown below.  To summarize, Sweet Grass County voted along party lines, with Republican candidates receiving about 75% of the votes- a wide margin. 

The voters of Sweet Grass County did not agree with the voters of the state in several areas including 

Sweet Grass County residents overwhelming were against prohibiting new game farms, prohibiting transfer of existing game farm licenses, and prohibiting shooting of game farm animals for a fee unlike the majority of Montanan's who voted for the initiative. 

Although 83 % of the voters of Sweet Grass County voters are for George W. Bush, the presidential race is yet to be decided due to the vote recount in Florida.  The vote in Florida is within 200 votes out of 6 million total votes for that state.  This is history in the making with the popular vote count going toward Gore but the electoral vote may go to Bush pending the Florida count.

Constitutional Amendment 35

Montana's share of the nationwide settlement with the tobacco companies is expected to average $30 million annually for the next 25 years.  Current law places settlement payments in the general fund.  This initiative would reduce tobacco settlement funds going to the general fund by as much as $12 million annually
